Muslim Wedding Cards & Invitations (UK)
Muslim wedding cards are sent to guests invited to a muslim wedding. From the time of the mogul empire, invitations have been sent out mainly in forms of scrolls. Also known as islamic wedding invitations these cards were beautiful with tassels made from gold hanging down the sides and scriptures from the Holy Qur'an written at the top. Although times have changed and no longer can you find real gold in invitations the designs have changed little. The scrolls have now mostly been replaced by cards which give the flexibility of inviting different guests to different functions.
Muslim wedding invitations now include inserts that invite guests to various functions such as 'nikah' and 'walima' reception. On the nikah inserts one may opt to have the word 'nikah' printed in arabic on it. Then some verses from the Holy Qur'an may also be added at the beginning of the invitation. The walima reception insert is mainly used to invite the guests to the party after the wedding or nikah.
The card itself may have the symbol of Bismillah or Allah which gives it the representation of faith and trust with which every married couples life journey begins with. Thus muslim wedding cards are seen as not only an invitation but a new beginning for a muslim couple under the guidance of Allah. |
